Emily Kellar, Associate Minister
Emily is from Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. There she met her future husband, David, a native of Duxbury. After some time in both North and South Carolina, Emily, David and their three children decided to move to Duxbury, where they had spent many summers visiting David’s family, and where they could begin a new adventure. Their daughter Emma is a civil engineer and lives in the Boston area. Their son, Edward is studying ocean engineering at Florida Tech. And their youngest, Ross, is a student at the College of Charleston.
Emily has wealth of experience to call upon in her position here as Associate Minister, including years of experience working with youth. For 19 years, she worked for Young Life, a ministry for high school kids, as well as teaching high school French in NC, and has also worked in the special education department at Alden School for several years. She will complete a Masters of Divinity degree at Andover Newton Theological School in the spring of 2016. Emily is a licensed minister of the Pilgrim Association serving Pilgrim Church. She was called to be our associate in February of 2014 and started in that role in March of 2014.
Emily enjoys playing tennis, needlepoint, reading and walking. Emily is called to help with worship, pastoral care and youth ministry at Pilgrim Church. She loves people of all ages and believes that Jesus Christ brought the Gospel for ALL people.
